Ear piercings on boys - need help prooving to my mum that it is 'socially acceptable'?

okay so heres the thing, i am 15 and will be 16 in october. I want to get one ear pierced but my mum won't let me. She says in is: not socially acceptable, tacky, chavy and that when i am older i may not be able to get a good job. So i have said to her that when i am older i can take it out and let it heal if need be and that i will only wear small studs. So can some one please try prrove my mum wrong and tell her it is okay.
