Thank you card ettiquette? please help?

You could go with a generic thank you, but what would be the point in writing that? It would be easier to get pre-printed cards. It would be more meaningful to specifically mention the gift and for those close to you also adding a personal message thanking them for sharing your day. I know that would take longer, but trust me. The gift givers will really appreciate your effort.
